AKArama Foundation has several types of scholarships available for students. In addition to our AKArama General scholarships which are allocated to students attending HBCUs, students with high scholastics, and students with financial need, we have several named scholarships.

The AKArama Foundation Scholarship is now open. This scholarship opportunity is exclusively available to African American female students currently enrolled as high school seniors.
The AKARAMA Foundation, Inc. will award the Lillie Patterson Scholarship to an African American female matriculating full time in an accredited postgraduate degree granting program in a field of benefit to mankind. Candidates pursuing a post-graduate degree in human services are highly preferred. The recipient must be attending a four-year college, university or alternative program as a full-time student in the Fall of year 2026.
The AKARAMA Foundation, Inc. will award the Dorothy Daylie Houston Scholarship to an African American female graduate of a City College of Chicago. The recipient must be attending a four-year college or university as a full-time student in the Fall of year 2026.
